Reasons Why People Should Give A Dog A Home

May 18th, 2008 by admin | Filed under Uncategorized.

Have you ever considered giving a dog a home? I had been discussing this very thought with my wife for a number of months before she finally agreed to the idea. I had been bought up with a number of different dogs and really loved having them around especially when I was a young child. We have had our new dog for around eight months now and the whole family have seen the benefit. In this article I will be writing about the reasons why I believe people should give a dog a home.

Our dog had been living in a rescue home for six months before we agreed to take her. Her name is Cassie and she is a beautiful dog. We think that she may have been badly treated in her youth as she can be a bit timid and wary at times. Part of her left ear has been bitten off which is cute but a bit sad. Cassie is extremely happy in her new surroundings and loves all of the fuss that my two young children give her.

My wife has actually managed to lose weight through taking the dog on her walks. The wife was quite reluctant about the whole idea of having any sort of pet but now takes Cassie on four big walks per day. This has helped her to attain her target weight, something which she has been trying to do for years.

Cassie is very caring and loving. Unlike a woman she does not answer back and has patience! She also appreciates when she is given a treat and is easy to train. My whole family now think that we should have had a dog a long time ago and we are now planning further pets, I would like to have a cat but the kids are hoping for a rabbit.
