The Black Russian Terrier is a Russian bred dog that is known for its need to be close to humans. This is a large dog breed. The males will usually stand between 27 and 29 inches tall and weigh between 100 and 140 pounds when fully grown. The female are generally a little bit smaller. They usually stand between 26 and 28 inches and weigh between 85 and 140 pounds. Their coat is long, dense, weatherproof, bristly, wavy and black.
