Feed Your Dog With The Appropriate Food
October 30th, 2008 by admin | Filed under Uncategorized. To have good health, dogs like human beings, need to eat proper food. Similar to babies, puppies need to be fed special food for their growing bodies. The right food and the servings will depend on the age, dimension and the breed of your dog. As your companion grows, his nutrition will change, depending on the amount of activities daily.
You have to decide among a lot of food on the market, select a reputable, high quality, dry dog food with the recommended daily allowance for your dog’s age, breed, size and weight. Your veterinarian can give you information and help you to decide the best food for your dog.
Scrap, table food, is not appropriate food for your animal; never feed him table food under any circumstances. You don’t want your dog around the table begging every time you eat. You want a healthy dog not an obese one, so make sure to do the right thing for him.
Don’t give your dog too much to eat; even with the right food he can develop medical problems, like diabetes, heart problems, high blood sugar and obesity. Ask your veterinarian the amount of food your dog should have every day and stick to it. Because it is very difficult to make them lose weight once they are obese. It is a good habit to give your dog a multi-vitamin in order to promote good health and normal growth. Give your dog bite-sized snacks during the day for training purposes. Don’t over give the snacks.
Give food to your dog in a stainless steel bowl. Don’t forget to clean your dog’s bowl with soap and water every day or two. These bowls are a breeding ground for bacteria. Plastic and ceramic bowls are not recommended. Your dog should always have fresh water in his bowl, although, while training, you can remove the water bowl at night in order to lessen the probability of night-time urinating. Proper dog nutrition is necessary if you want to keep your dog’s health in check and preventing costly trips to the vet.
